Glenn E. Bigsby, IV, DO, FACOOG
Dr. Bigsby joined the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 2006. After receiving a BA in Psychology at the University of Colorado, Dr. Bigsby attended the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Bigsby completed his fellowship at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute and is board certified through the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologist.
Neil J. Finkler, MD, FACOG, FACS
Dr. Finkler founded the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 1992. After completing his medical training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Finkler conducted his OB/GYN residency and his Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Finkler is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and is the principle investigator for all GYN Oncology Group clinical trials, a National Cancer Institute cooperative group.
Alan J. Gordon, MD
Dr. Gordon is practicing as the gynecologic oncology specialty section leader at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Orlando. Dr. Gordon is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist and is a leader in the area of ovarian cancer research. Dr. Gordon also earned his medical degree from the John Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology from The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and completed an internship and residency in gynecology and obstetrics from the Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
Robert W. Holloway, MD, FACOG, FACS
Dr. Holloway joined the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 1994. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and finished his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is the principle investigator for several clinical trials and is asked to lecture regularly around the country.
Victoria Loerzel, PhD. RN, OCN
Vicki Loerzel, PhD, RN OCN is currently an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida’s College of Nursing. Vicki has been an oncology nurse for 15 years. Her current focus is on women with breast and/or ovarian cancer. In order to educate nursing students about ovarian cancer, Vicki has recently teamed with the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida to bring the Nurses Education Initiative to nursing students at UCF. This educational program educates undergraduate and graduate students about the disease, so they can help women identify symptoms early.
Alice Spinelli, MSN, ARNP, AOCN
Alice is an oncology clinical nurse specialist at Holmes Regional Medical Center and has served as President, of the Society of Gynecologic Nurse Oncologists. She helped to develope the Nurses Educational Initiative, an innovative program which assists healthcare providers with resources to better recognize ovarian cancer symptoms.
Susan Vallen, RN, BSN, MSN
Jan Young, RNC Certified Menopause Educator NAMS/NCC
Jan Young, RNC is a Certified Menopause Educator credentialed by the North American Menopause Society and National Certification Corporation for OB/GYN and Neonatal Nursing Specialties. Jan has 33 years of diversified nursing experience and privately consults with physician offices for women’s health consultations. She has coordinated a Hormone Education and Support Program at Taylor’s Pharmacy for the past 14 years and currently participates with the Pfizer Speakers Bureau in the specialty of Women’s Health. Jan periodically pens a monthly column in a local health magazine.
