Turn The Town Teal - September 2009
In many areas of the United States, local communities are turning teal in awareness of ovarian cancer. Turn the Town Teal will take place in September to coincide with National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month as well as Teal Time which has been designated as Friday, September 4, 2009.

Businesses will promote this event to their employees and customers. There will be teal ribbons adorning trees and lampposts as well as teal outdoor lighting at night. Employees will be wearing teal and disseminating information about the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Businesses who have already committed include:

  • Longwood Village Shopping Center
  • Holland and Knight LLP
  • Two Men and a Truck
  • Drs. Finkler, Holloway and Bigsby
  • Embarq Services
  • Watson Realty
  • MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando
  • Insurance Office of America
  • Orange County Commission
  • Publix Supermarkets
  • M&I Bank
  • Seminole County Commission
  • OCAF has the support of mayors and governing bodies in several towns throughout the area to make proclamations declaring September Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. President Obama and Governor Crist have already declared September 2009 as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

OCAF invites your business, neighborhood, or community group to be involved in this project. We have ribbons, posters and symptom cards available in the office. T-shirts are also available for $10. Please contact the OCAF office for more information at 407-339-0024.
