ABOUT US

The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida (OCAF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating women throughout the state about ovarian cancer.

About 22,430 American women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007, and about 15,280 will die from it.  The state of Florida has the third highest incidence and mortality rate of the disease in the entire country.  Therefore, OCAF has dedicated just under a decade to teaching women about the disease (it's symptoms and risks) in order to increase early detection to save women's lives.

OCAF's efforts include:
  • Communicating and coordinating with ovarian cancer survivors/advocates to help spread the word about the disease
  • Organizing OCAF health seminars, outside health fair appearances, speaking opportunities, fund-raisers, etc. to increase awareness
  • Providing literature (brochures, fliers, quarterly newsletter, symptoms & risk cards) in English and Spanish
  • Updating the Web site to provide current information on research and upcoming OCAF events

We welcome you to join our cause.  Because UNTIL THERE'S A TEST, AWARENESS IS BEST!
