The 2007 Judy Murphy Award was presented to Carrie Fish, Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer of Florida Hospital/Waterman, Tavares, Florida, during the Teal Magnolia Luncheon
held Saturday, April 21, 2007. This award is given annually to a woman who has exhibited pronounced initiative, devotion
and passion for serving the greater good. Someone who has multiple roles in life, not just for volunteering, advocacy
and education, but who is also well-balanced with family and life missions. The recipient of this award had to be a
multi-faceted individual who embraces life and all it has to offer.
As a
senior leader at Waterman, Carrie has excelled at using her position, influence and personal skills to build her associates
and co-worker's skills and unselfishly encourages their personal growth, demonstrating her compassionate concern for others,
along with a servant's heart. She is highly respected by her colleagues and by the physicians she works with.
Her personal passion, professional skills and work ethic have been recognized by her industry leaders by being named as one
of the five best leaders in the vast 176 hospital network belonging to the Adventist Health System.
Ms. Fish
has not confined her passion and skills to her workplace - she has and is making an impact on her community. Her volunteer
activities and achievements include:
-
Past
board member of the Golden Triangle YMCA.
-
Nominated
in 2003 and 2004 for the Orlando Women Who Make Magic Award.
-
Appointed
by Governor Jeb Bush as a member of the Florida Governor's Task Force on "Service First".
-
Past
board Chair for Sunrise ARC, an organization that serves people with developmental disabilities.
Our recipient
does not stop there. She demonstrates and lives a balance of life with Dale, her husband of 25 years, with an active
family life, taking great passion and pleasure being "Auntie Mame" to her nieces, nephew and godchild.
To quote
her nominator, "Carrie's qualifications for the award are exemplified every day in her workplace and expressed in her personal
life as well. In short, she "lives it" to the full just like Judy Murphy did."
OCAF
congratulates the 2007 Judy Murphy Award "Celebrating Women's Lives" recipient, Carrie Fish.
